Speak for Animals:
Saving and improving the lives of companion animals in the Upstate since 2003.
We are a volunteer and donation based 501 ( c ) 3 headquartered in Greenville, SC.
Our Beginning
Speak for Animals was started in 2003 by a small group of people that all shared the same passion; to provide a voice for animals. Saving lives through low cost spay/neuter became the core focus and mission of the organization. We began designing low cost spay/neuter programs that directly addressed the overpopulation problem in our communities. We identified a need in low income communities for low cost, and no cost options that would allow them to afford to have their animals sterilized and vaccinated. Over the years, our mission has evolved to include humane education and collection and distribution of dog and cat food and supplies.
Our Approach
Through a collaborative network of volunteers, veterinary partners and relationships with other animal welfare groups we serve often overlooked areas of major need in our community:
- Disadvantaged Neighborhoods
- Disabled Residents, Government Assistance and Low Income Households
- At-Risk Animals
- Elementary School Humane Education
- Cross Agency Coordination to Serve Animals in need
