Fund Raising, Grant Writing and Special Event
Assistance
Are you personable,
friendly, outgoing and enjoy meeting new people? Fund
raising and special events are designed for you. SFA
relies on donations, special events, and grants to
continue its work. Creative minds and helping hands
are always needed in this area. Volunteers are needed
to staff booths at local events as well as participate
in fundraisers such as:
· Have a Heart for
Animals (Feb)
· Spa for Spays (May)
· Holiday Honor Cards
(Dec) and other various events that raise money for our
programs
We also have an active
grant writing committee which is also looking for
interested volunteers.

Humane Education and Community Outreach
Education is a primary
concern for animal welfare organizations such as SFA.
Volunteers are needed for community outreach programs
that teach children, as well as adults, the meaning of
and importance of responsible pet ownership. We are in
the process of trying to reach out to schools in the
Greenville County School System and hope to organize
kids and pets fairs at elementary schools to create fun
educational opportunities for children to learn about
proper pet care and treatment.

Marketing and Communication
SFA publishes
newsletters, sends out various mailings, maintains a
web site as well as other forms of media. We need
assistance with:
· website, newsletter
and marketing material design
· writing articles,
website updates, new releases, marketing materials, ask
letters, etc.
· organizing / managing
these elements
· distributing
marketing pieces (letters, newsletters, etc.)

SPAY-Mania Campaign
Spay-Mania takes place
on the third Saturday of each month. We travel in
groups, going door-to-door in the Judson Mill community
and surrounding neighborhoods, talking to people about
their pets. We offer discounted and often free
spay/neuter plus vaccinations to willing participants.
We also provide alternatives to chaining dogs as we
advocate against this. Food, water, collars and treats
are given to needy dogs and cats. Educational
materials are provided to their human guardians in the
form of books, DVDs and other materials that not only
teach proper animal care but offer ways to have fun
with their animals. Our goal is to instill a new
mind-set towards caring for animals which will create a
positive future for the animal, its family and our
community.

Animal Transport
A key aspect of our
Spay-Mania Campaign involves transporting animals to
and from their spay/neuter surgeries at our partnering
veterinary hospitals. Transports occur Monday – Friday
and times are flexible.

Chained
Dog Campaign
This
is your chance to make a difference in the ongoing
struggle to curtail the ever-growing population of
lonely and neglected animals. Together, we go in
groups, into neighborhoods and seek out chained and
lonely dogs in need of some TLC. For more
information, or to read about our last campaign,
